Accounting Manager

Department: Finance/Administration

Position Summary 

We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager for our Accounting Department. This position assists with financial oversight of the company, working closely with sales and operations teams located in Visalia. This position is located at the Company’s main office in Visalia, California. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of the Accounting and Finance functions for World Wide Sires, Ltd. This position directly reports to the Senior Vice President of Export Operations of World Wide Sires, and engages with parent company, Select Sires, Inc., in Plain City, Ohio. 

Essential Functions 

  • Supervision of the Accounting team, including hiring and training of new staff. 

  • Lead internal financial controls and collaborate with parent company for annual audit. 

  • Establish proper business practices and procedures in accordance with ERP capabilities. 

  • Create and modify financial handbook to ensure proper internal controls and guide the business. 

  • Manage WWS Treasury, including reconciliation of all bank accounts, monitoring daily cash balances and report cash flow to WWS management. 

  • Monitor WWS Accounts Receivable, customer accounts and cash receipts. 

  • Sign checks, approve wire transfers and authorize payments 

  • Provide financial statements and compliance reports to banks as required. 

  • Manage and review General Ledger entries, account reconciliations, budget accruals, subsidiary consolidation reports and month-end closing activities 

  • Establish protocols for reporting of subsidiary financial results to corporate office for consolidation purposes 

  • Lead development of annual internal budget for WWS Ltd. 

  • Support WWS Human Resources with payroll and benefits administration as necessary 

  • Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit 

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness. 

  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems. 

  • Must have strong experience with an ERP, including implementation of new ERP software 

  • Knowledge of foreign trade is useful but not mandatory. 

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required. 

  • Excellent teamwork, relationship building, customer service and coordinative skills are required 

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions/processes. 

  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP 

  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written skills. 

  • Superior ability to identify and solve problems. 

  • Ability to solve fundamental math problems. 

  • Knowledge of basic administrative and clerical systems and procedures. 

Qualifications Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or in related business fields. CPA or MBA a plus. 

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role 

  • Advanced Excel skills with proficient skills in accounting and ERP environments. 

  • Food/Agriculture accounting experience preferred. 

  • Reliability in checking own work to ensure accuracy. 

  • Experience with multi location ASAT 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization 

Physical Demands: 

  • Attendance and punctuality. 

  • Mobility within the office. 

  • Ability to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs. 

  • Ability to lift to 25 pounds. 

  • Ability to drive a vehicle. Must possess a valid driver's license.

The internship will provide valuable experience in marketing, public relations and advertising for the industry’s leading A.I. company. Responsibilities

The internship will be tailored to your strengths and interests, but as the WWS Marketing and Advertising intern your responsibilities may include the following:

  • Create advertisements, brochures and flyers 

  • Plan and create content for WWS social media accounts

  • Gather testimonials, photos and video to support our advertising campaign 

  • Write ad copy and articles

  • Conduct market research and develop presentations for the Marketing team

  • Organize employee events 

  • Assist with tour planning for our international visitors 

  • Work with the Advertising and Marketing teams on special projects that strengthen the WWS brand 

  • Demonstrate public speaking skills with an internship summary presentation
